40 degrees
It has been about 40 degrees here for the last week (...and NO, I am not melting under all the weight/having a hard time/wishing I wasn't pregnant/ready for him or her to be here/etc, etc.) I happen to love this weather. If only I could fashion a sign to wear to educate all strangers about this without having to engage in the awkward & obvious small talk I'd be really happy.
Actually, I think the excuse to go for ice cream every night may be the best part of it all & thankfully we've got a store within walking distance of our house. We've taken advantage of that for sure.
We've had a great week, one that just oozes everything summer should be. Stef was here, but sadly for only a short time & yesterday Ang hosted another of her famous birthday parties at the beach.

Nana's Cowpokes
Well, we've been home from Calgary for just over an hour now so I figured it's about time we updated our photos...
We had a fabulous first trip in the new beast - our 'vintage' Land Cruiser. It handled all of us and our heap of stuff so we're more than satisfied. The weekend was jam-packed and we had a great time...only wish there was more of it. Unfortunately, Grant has this pesky job-thing that keeps us from spending the next week and a half eating pancakes and watching fireworks.
So with the short time we had we took in all we could handle of the Stampede, visited with family & friends & got to spend time out with Nana's horse, Tess. Nana taught DK all about finding their balance and using their "spaghetti legs" to get comfortable on the saddle. Not surprisingly Kai quickly decided she was about ready for us to buy her her own horse.
